Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Speech Language Pathologist?

A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is a communication expert. We work alongside babies, children, teens, adults and seniors through the life span who may have communication or swallowing problems.

What do Speech Language Pathologists do?

As a SLP, we work with people who have difficulty with their speech (the way the words actually sound) and language (the meaning of the words, and how we understand words). SLPs also work on “higher level” language, including memory, reasoning, problem solving, and sequencing skills.

When are you available for therapy?

I am available for sessions Monday – Friday.

Do you accept insurance?

No, Compass Speech Language Services is private pay only at this time. I can however provide a “super bill” at your request for you to submit to your insurance. I recommend talking to your insurance company about submitting claims from an out of network provider.

Where are you located?

We are located in Clarkston, Michigan. We provide primarily in-home therapy at the client’s home. Alternatively, we can arrange to meet at the Clarkston Independence District Library or through teletherapy on Google Meet.
